Farrukh Aman, Vice President, Corporate & Retail Banking Solutions at WRITER, sat down to speak with us at the summer edition of FTT AI Transformation.
As leader of the financial services practice, he works closely with clients across the sector to guide them through scaling AI, deploying it responsibly and supporting providers in defining use cases within their organisations.
With a long background in financial services, he is well placed to understand the opportunities and the challenges when it comes to scaling AI. As he notes, those are doing it well find use cases that help them with the following; making money, saving money, improving productivity and, most importantly, delivering a better client experience.
If you are deploying AI and succeeding in even just one of those areas, you are ahead of the game. If you are still in the experimentation stage, there are, as he notes, plenty of case studies/use cases demonstrating the value of AI. The most important thing – get started.
Farrukh also says one of the key barriers to linking the use of AI tools to key business KPIs and outcomes is getting caught up in existing organisational complexity and processes. It is important to identify an executive sponsor within the organisation from the start and notes that will help expedite processes and bring down blockers to change.
One key insight is not to simply build and deploy agents based on digitising existing processes. Take time to think it out, define the target state and what you are building towards.
What does the future hold for the role of humans in the financial services ? What is the near and longer term trajectory for the use of AI agents? Listen to the full interview below to hear Farrukh’s thoughts in their entirety.
