Why Open is a Closed Affair?

Fintech

Scott Wilson, VP, Mambu took to the stage on Day 1 at the Fintech Talents Festival to deliver a presentation that set-in motion many subsequent conversations across the day and beyond. Asking the question, Why open is a closed affair, Scott presented interesting findings on consumer attitudes and perspectives on Open Banking.

He noted the extraordinary nature of the past two years as the world was closing and contracting around us. As GPD shrunk and bank profits fell, the fintech ecosystem grew rapidly. Digital consumption increased across all groups in society.

This is the time for an open industry that can deliver innovation at speed. Scott asked the question – has Open Banking has been a success? He suggests that it has not yet delivered on its promise and full potential. Have a listen to the full presentation below to learn why and, crucially, what can be done about it. A thought-provoking position that begs the questions – is Open Banking due a rebrand?
